HISTORY

Once known simply as Osprey Valley, TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley’s humble beginnings trace back to 1992, when the Heathlands course opened for play as a high-quality layout with an unpretentious charm.

The original Heathlands course was designed by renowned Canadian architect Doug Carrick, who after a trip to Portmarnock Golf Club in Dublin, Ireland designed the links-inspired layout, with its wind-swept dunes and lurking pot bunkers echoing the traditions of links golf.

Despite its modest early years, where the clubhouse was simply a trailer in a gravel parking lot, Osprey Valley quickly developed a loyal following of players, mainly through word-of-mouth, who appreciated the no-nonsense approach surrounding the course.

After nearly a decade of steady growth in popularity from local golfers, Osprey Valley took the next steps by adding two more Carrick-designed courses: the rolling, Parkland-style North course (then known as Toot) and the Wasteland-style Hoot course, both as unique as the Heathlands in their own way. A modern A-Frame clubhouse was also added, enhancing the experience without diminishing the simple charm that Osprey golfers had come to know and love.

The accessible, welcoming appeal that defined Osprey Valley since its beginning has always been a major part of the vision of brothers Jerry and Roman Humeniuk, who purchased the property shortly after its launch in 1992. For both serious and recreational players alike, Osprey Valley’s core offering has always been delivering nothing more or less than a top-quality golf experience for anyone and everyone.

After celebrating a quarter-century of history, Osprey Valley has continued to find a place in the hearts of those who cherish the game of golf, with its unmatched offering of 54 quality holes propelling all three of its courses annually into SCOREGolf’s Top 100 Courses in Canada.

In 2018, the property entered a new era as TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley, aligning with the PGA TOUR and the TPC Network in a partnership that solidifies the quality promised to golfers who play here. As the only TPC property in Canada and with its 54 holes, TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley truly is a one-of-a-kind golf experience, where excellence meets accessibility in an unmatched setting.

The bright future ahead was further solidified with a long-awaited commencement of construction of new on site amenities in 2021, including two clubhouses, event space and on-site accommodations, with the new buildings set to enhance Osprey Valley as a true destination for everyone from hardcore golf enthusiasts to anyone looking to get away to Caledon’s relaxing scenery.

With much excitement building around the property, another milestone was reached in 2022 as Golf Canada and Osprey Valley announced a partnership and bold vision to build a new Home for Canadian Golf – a momentous project that will see the National Sport Federation relocate its corporate base of operations to TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley. The campus will include national headquarters for First Tee – Canada, with a publicly accessible community putting green and an indoor training centre.
